Tea time !

I usually enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning but lately I am loving a little tea time more and more. Back in Japan where I was born and raised, my mom and I enjoyed tea time daily. It has been more than 10 years since my mom passed away. But whenever I sip a good cup of Japanese green tea, I feel my mom close by. Memories associate with scent and flavor are much stronger than any other memories. On scientific side, tea has several health benefits due to its high antioxidant content. Some of the benefits are

  1. Boosts the immune system: Tea contains compounds called catechins, which have been shown to have antimicrobial properties that help to strengthen the immune system and protect against infections.

  2. Promotes heart health: Some studies have found that tea can help to reduce the risk of heart disease by improving blood flow and reducing inflammation in the body.

  3. Supports brain function: Tea contains caffeine, which can help to improve focus and concentration. It also contains L-theanine, an amino acid that has been shown to promote relaxation and reduce stress.

  4. Reduces the risk of certain cancers: Some studies have found that tea consumption may be associated with a reduced risk of certain types of cancer, including breast, prostate, and colorectal cancer.

  5. Aids in digestion: Some types of tea, such as ginger or peppermint tea, have been shown to help alleviate digestive issues such as nausea, bloating, and indigestion.

These benefits are great. Still though, I truly love this quiet time to prepare tea and enjoy it with friends or alone. Tea creates a sacred self love time for me. Wanna have tea with me sometime ?
